One of the following cases is a major food safety accident: The accident is seriously hazardous, the scope of impact involves two listed (prefecture)-level administrative regions in the province; causing more than 100 injuries and deaths; and causing more than 10 cases Deaths; Major food safety incidents identified by the provincial government.

Those that meet one of the following circumstances are larger food safety accidents: The scope of accidents involves more than two administrative districts at the district, county, and city level in the city, causing serious damage to the public's catering safety; causing more than 100 injuries or Deaths; Large food safety incidents identified by the municipal government.

Any one of the following circumstances is considered to be a general food safety accident: the scope of the accident is affected by 1 district/county (city) in the city, causing public health hazards; 30 to 99 people are injured and no deaths occurred; General food safety accidents recognized by the county (city) government.

Grade I and II food safety incidents shall be reported to the State Food and Drug Administration level by level. The time for each level shall not exceed 2 hours. For class III food safety accidents, the municipal food and drug regulatory authorities shall respectively The Drug Administration Bureau reported that the time reported at each level must not exceed 2 hours; for food safety incidents of Grade IV and IV and with more than 2 persons, the district/county (municipal) market supervision bureaus shall supervise the people's government at this level and the city's food and drug administration respectively. The bureau reported that the reporting period must not exceed 2 hours. Involving personnel from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, foreign citizens, or accidents that may affect overseas operations, they shall be notified level by level in accordance with relevant state regulations.

The responsible units and responsible persons responsible for food safety accidents shall compensate the victims in accordance with the relevant regulations, and bear the related expenses for follow-up treatment and protection of the victims. Advanced collectives and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the emergency management and disposal of food safety accidents shall be given recognition and rewards. In the process of handling food safety accidents, the administrative supervisory organs and relevant departments shall investigate the responsibility of the responsible persons in accordance with relevant laws and regulations for such acts as concealment, misreporting, omission or delay in reporting, or negligence of duty, negligence, malfeasance, etc.
