Harvester clutch tips
When starting, press the clutch pedal to the bottom to make the clutch completely separate. When lifting the clutch pedal, it starts to lift quickly. When it feels that the clutch pressure plate is gradually combined to the half linkage, it starts to slow down and makes the harvester start smoothly.
Some drivers are accustomed to stepping on the clutch in an emergency and then braking, which will increase the wear of the clutch. High-speed coasting on the clutch pedal is also highly undesirable. This not only makes the harvester difficult to control, but also damages the clutch and is also dangerous. Novices are always habitually stepping on clutches due to lack of driving experience. This is a bad habit. For a long time, it will not only aggravate the wear and tear of the clutch, but also cause the clutch to slip, the clutch plate to ablate, and the compression spring to anneal. The clutch on the harvester is in a tightly engaged state during normal driving, and the clutch should not slip. Therefore, the novice should develop good driving habits from the beginning of driving: except for starting, shifting and low-speed braking, do not step on the clutch at all other times, and do not put the foot on the clutch pedal.
The friction lining and the friction disc mounted in the clutch constitute a friction pair, and the torque is transmitted through the interaction of the friction pair. The friction coefficient of the friction pair is proportional to the transmitted torque, but the friction coefficient is greatly affected by the working state of the friction pair. The combination process of the clutch is: as the pressing force of the pressure plate is released, the clutch driven plate is gradually pressed, and the frictional force increases the rotational speed of the driven disk until the rotation speed of the pressure plate and the friction disk coincides to complete the torque transmission. In this process, there is a relative friction between the friction plate and the pressure plate and the friction plate. The friction generated at this time is called the friction torque, and the work done by the sliding friction increases the surface temperature of the friction pair. When the speed is the same, the friction pair is no longer slipped, and the static friction of the friction pair is applied at this time. The clutch will only slip if the load exceeds the static friction torque.
