In order to increase the reproduction rate of sheep and goats and to meet the needs of the development of the sheep industry, the farmer who raises the sheep cannot but understand the knowledge of the reproductive physiology of the sheep. The introduction is as follows, for reference. 1. Sexual maturity. Mostly 5 to 7 months of age, as early as 4 to 5 months of age (individual premature goat more than 3 months that is heat). 2. Mature body. Ewes are over 1.5 years old and rams are over 2 years old. Early maturing varieties are advanced. 3. Estrus cycle. Most sheep are 16 to 17 days (range 14 to 22 days), and goats are mostly 19 to 21 days (large range of 18 to 24 days). 4. Estrus duration. Sheep are 30 to 36 hours (a large range of 27 to 50 hours) and goats are 39 to 40 hours. 5. Ovulation time. 12-30 hours after the onset of estrus. 6. The fertilization ability time is maintained after the egg is discharged. 15 to 24 hours. 7. The sperm arrives at the ewes fallopian tubes. About 5 to 6 hours. 8. Sperm survival time in the ewe's reproductive tract. Mostly 24-48 hours, up to 72 hours. 9. The best time to breed. About 5 hours before ovulation (ie, within half a day of estrus). 10. Pregnancy (pregnancy) period. Average 150 days (range 145-154 days). 11. Breastfeeding period. Usually 3.5 to 4 months, depending on production needs and the speed of lamb growth and set. 12. Multiple births. Goats are generally more multilative than sheep. China's sheep in central and southern regions are more multilative than those in northern China. 13. Estrus season. Depending on the climate, nutritional conditions and species, seasonal and seasonal heat. 14. Lamb season. It is best to produce winter lambs (December to January), followed by Chun lamb (February to May) and Qiu Lao (from August to October). 15. Postpartum first estrus time. Sheep are mostly on the 25th to 46th days after childbirth, the earliest being on the 12th day; goats are mostly on the 10th to 14th days after childbirth; and dairy goats are mostly on the 30th to 45th days after childbirth. 16. Reproductive life. For 6 to 8 years, the reproductive performance of 2.5 to 5 years old is the best, and some excellent rams can be used up to about 10 years old. China Agricultural Network Editor
