Test method for sealing fastness of FFS heavy packaging film heat sealing before cooling
Abstract: The hot-adhesive property is a performance index to evaluate the sealing fastness of FFS heavy packaging film before sealing. It is an important factor affecting the bag breaking rate of FFS heavy packaging film. In this paper , the thermal adhesive strength of a heavy packaging film sample was tested by i-Thermotek 2400 heat sealing and hot tack performance tester, and the FFS heavy packaging was introduced through the introduction of the test principle, equipment parameters, application range and test procedure. The measurement of the thermal viscosity of the film and the adjustment of the heat sealing parameters are provided for reference.

1 , meaning
Compared with traditional packaging, FFS heavy packaging film has two major features: First, the bag making is molded once, that is, the packaging process is automatic cutting forming (form) - automatic filling (fill) - automatic sealing of the bag mouth (seal) It has the advantages of low labor cost and flexible production. Secondly, the quality of the packaged contents is large, and the general load is 10 ~ 50 Kg . It can be used for packaging of resin, chemical raw materials, food, grain, building materials, animal feed and other products. It has the advantages of saving materials, good sealing and beautiful appearance.
FFS heavy packaging film adopts automatic packaging technology, and the packaging speed can reach 1200~2000 bags / hour. Therefore, a few seconds after the sealing of the package seal, even when it is just sealed, it will be greatly impacted by the contents of the filling. At this time, the sealing has not been cooled, the sealing fastness is low, and the sealing is easily broken under the impact of the contents, which reduces the impact resistance or extrusion ability of the sealing, and is likely to break the bag during storage or transportation. Therefore, increasing the hot tack strength (ie, the seal fastness) when the seal is not cooled is important for reducing the breakage rate of the FFS heavy packaging film.

In this paper, the FFS heavy packaging film produced by a co-extrusion process is used as a test sample.
3 , testing basis
The sealing fastness of the packaging bag before and after cooling is quite different. The sealing fastness of the sealing before cooling is low. It is difficult to reflect the sealing fastness of the sealing before the cooling of the sample by the general heat sealing strength test method. Therefore, this paper reflects the sealing fastness of the sample before testing by the hot tack strength of the test. The test procedure is based on GB/T 34445-2017 "Measurement of hot tack properties of thermoplastics and composites."
4 , test equipment
This test was tested by i-Thermotek 2400 heat seal and hot tack performance tester. The equipment was independently developed and produced by Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd.

4.1 Test principle
The hot tack property is mainly measured by the hot tack strength, and the hot tack strength test reflects the sealing fastness of the seal before the seal is not cooled after heat sealing. In order to ensure the accuracy of the test results, the test of heat sealing and hot tack strength of the sample is completed by the same equipment. Firstly, the sample is heat-sealed by setting the heat-sealing parameters, and then the delay of the certain time, the sample clamp is retracted to the initial state of the strength test, and the strength test process, and the whole hot-adhesive strength test is completed. By setting different heat sealing parameters and testing the corresponding hot tack strength, the heat sealing parameters can be determined according to the test results to ensure good sealing fastness of the sample edge seal before it is cooled.
4.2 Scope of application
(1) This equipment is suitable for testing the thermal adhesive properties, heat sealing properties and heat seal strength of various plastic film, paper-plastic composite film, co-extruded film, aluminized film, aluminum foil, aluminum foil composite film and other film materials.

4.3 Equipment parameters
The thermal viscosity and heat sealing performance are controlled from room temperature to 250 °C , temperature control resolution is ±0.1 °C , heat sealing performance is ±2 °C , and thermal viscosity is ±1 °C. The heat sealing pressure control range is 0.05 ~ 0.7 MPa ; the heat sealing time setting range is ≤ 99.9 s ; the strength test load range is 0 ~ 50N , the precision is 1 level, the resolution is 0.1N ; heat seal strength test The test speed is 200 mm/min , 250 mm/min , 300 mm/min ; the test width of the sample includes 15mm , 25mm , 25.4mm ; the upper and lower heat seals can be independently controlled; the manual and pedal test Start mode and anti-scald design ensure user convenience and safety.
5 , the test process
(1) information to set parameters sealing temperature, sealing pressure, sealing time, the sample name, experiment on the width of the control software of the device, select Test Method B.
(2) Cut 5 specimens with a width of 15 mm and a length of at least 25 mm along the longitudinal direction of the sample to be tested .
(3) setting the device to the heat sealing temperature is reached, wherein a sample is taken, both ends of the sample are clamping fixture in two samples, the sample bypass sample sled mechanism, and a thermal cover Contact with the drag mechanism.
(4) Move the drag mechanism so that the hot cover of the sample contacts each other between the heat seal knives, step on the foot switch, heat seal the sample to heat seal the sample, and at the same time release the drag mechanism, the device is set according to the heat Sealing parameters After the sample is heat-sealed, the heat-sealing knife is automatically separated. After a delay of 0.1 s , the fixture is retracted to the initial state of the hot-adhesive strength test within 0.1 s , and then the heat-sealing is pulled at a clamping speed of 200 mm/s . The hot tack strength of the part is tested by the force value configured on the fixture.

6 , test results
The average value of the test results of the five samples was 4.26 N/15 mm , so the hot-adhesive strength of the tested samples under the set heat-sealing parameters was 4.26 N/15 mm .
7 , conclusion
The hot tack strength reflects the sealing fastness of the packaging material before the heat sealing edge is cooled, and is an important index affecting the performance of the FFS heavy packaging film. In this paper , the hot-adhesive strength of FFS heavy-package film samples under fixed heat-sealing parameters is tested. The test process is simple, the equipment is highly automated, the operation is simple, and the test results are accurate and reliable. In order to obtain the range of heat sealing parameters corresponding to the hot tack strength of the sample, the method can be used to test the corresponding hot tack strength under different heat sealing parameters and select appropriate heat sealing parameters in combination with the test phenomenon.
