Popcorn in cinemas and supermarkets also contains lead?

Many people often watch movies while holding a bucket of popcorn. There is an online saying that the popcorn in the cinema is lead-containing. Is this true? In winter, many people like to warm their baby on the body. It can be said that warm babies can cause low-temperature burns, and can also be burned at low temperatures. Others said that if the password is lost at the ATM machine, it will be automatically alarmed. Last night, CCTV Finance's "Is it Real?" column investigated the above topics and opened a mystery for everyone.

Popcorn in cinemas and supermarkets also contains lead?

A lot of 70's and 80's may all remember that popcorn machines like “black gourds” were baked on the small street stoves. With the “bang” sound, fresh popcorn came out. However, in the previous years, there were institutions that exposed the popcorn to lead because of the special processing technology of the barrel-type popcorn machines. Therefore, this old popcorn machine gradually withdrew from the market.

However, some people have recently expressed doubts that popcorn sold in supermarkets and movie theaters is also lead-containing. Is this true? CCTV program group reporters purchased six types of popcorn at movie theaters and supermarkets, and then sent popcorn samples to food testing stations for heavy metal lead testing. Samples were taken by the inspectors and found that out of the 6 popcorn samples, 4 samples contained lead. Among them, the highest lead content of popcorn was 0.042 mg/kg, while the lowest lead content was 0.018 mg/kg. The other two types of popcorn did not detect lead. It seems that popcorn contains lead. Is this content safe?

According to China's national food hygiene standards, the lead content of expanded foods must not exceed 0.5 mg/kg. From the above test results, the lead content of 4 lead popcorns did not exceed the standard. According to the processing technology, the new popcorn should not contain lead. So where does the lead in the popcorn come from? Although the lead content does not exceed the standard, will it cause harm to the human body?

According to experts, the lead in these popcorns may be generated during the transportation and drying process. As long as the standards are not exceeded, the problem of eating is not significant. Although popcorn in supermarkets and movie theaters is safe, experts have also reminded everyone that popcorn eat too much can get angry and it can also cause adverse effects on the body. Popcorn should be eaten in moderation.
