Lake sheep breeding management measures
The weather in spring is changeable, and the green feed is lacking. The sheep are mostly in the physiology phase where nutrition is most needed during the later period of pregnancy or during lactation. If the feeding and management do not pay attention, it can cause serious economic losses and affect the annual economic benefits. On March 26th, Xinsen County Shansen Animal Husbandry Base invited Yang Zeliang Sheep Breeding Center expert Xu Zeli to give technical guidance. Xu Zeli said that the following work must be done from beginning to end:
With enough forage, the grasses suitable for feeding Hu sheep are fresh grass, green hay, rattan grass, silage, fruit leaves, and mulberry leaves. When feeding sheep, the grass should be properly matched, otherwise the sheep will cause some diseases due to lack of nutrition. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure the supply of green fodder, hay and silage throughout the year.
Supplementary concentrates, supplemented with nutrient concentrates to aid supplementation, cannot be fed in large quantities. In the case of abundant fodder, it is mainly added before breeding, before and after pregnancy, ewes during lactation, breeding rams, lambs, and lean sheep. The amount of feed is controlled at about 250 grams per day per sheep. Add it in the morning or at night. Concentrate formula: 30% corn, 10% soybean meal, 30% wheat bran, 16% rapeseed cake, 10% Qinglan, 3% salt, and 1% mineral additive.
Lamb management. Efforts are made to realize the normal output of all lambs, and it is particularly necessary to pay attention to correcting dystocia and correct delivery of midwifery during production; do postpartum treatment of ewes and rescue work on weak lambs, dead lambs, and lambs; and let lambs eat as early as possible. Milk, eat 3 to 5 days, regular milk should be sufficient; 15 days after the lamb is born, to train its grazing material, so that it can exercise its digestive capacity, lure food can be used crushed corn, soybean cake, etc., and mixed with some chopped succulent feed.
Picking is naughty. Do a good job in the identification of the male and female, size and size of the sheep, select the best and leave the group, pay close attention to the short-term fattening of the eliminated sheep, reduce the consumption in time for slaughter, formulate the matching plan, and prepare for the reservation.
Place nutrition bricks. In order to supplement the lake with trace elements, nutrition bricks are placed in the sheep's house for free food.
Sheep house disinfection. Keep the sheep house clean, dry and warm. The sunny weather allows the ewes and lambs to enjoy the sun. In the housing, peracetic acid can be used to sterilize the livestock, use 0.3% to 0.5% of the concentration to do the disinfection and heating of the home environment and articles, or to perform fumigation (5 ml per cubic meter of space).
Regular epidemic prevention. Ewes are given three-in-four anti-vaccine 15 to 20 days prior to delivery. At the age of 2 months, the lambs were injected with the triple quadruple vaccine against sheep epidemic, sheep epidemic, and sheep enterotoxaemia. Two weeks later, foot-and-mouth disease vaccine was injected and the parasites were extirpated.
