Single-cylinder diesel engine self-extinguishment phenomenon to determine the cause of the fault

The self-extinguishing of the single-cylinder diesel engine at work is a common fault. We can roughly judge the fault according to the symptoms at the time of self-extinguition, and eliminate it in a targeted manner. (1) When the flame is turned off by itself, the rotation speed gradually decreases, but the sound of the engine and the color of the exhaust gas do not change abnormally. This situation is mostly caused by fuel system failures, such as the lack of oil in the fuel tank, the opening of the fuel tank switch, the blockage of the fine diesel filter element, the ingress of large amounts of air into the oil circuit, the presence of water in the fuel, or the plugging of the vent hole in the fuel tank cap. (2) When self-extinguishing, the rotation speed gradually decreases and the exhaust pipe emits black smoke. This situation is mostly caused by problems in the intake and exhaust systems, and may be due to clogged air filters or intake and exhaust pipes. In addition, overload can also cause this symptom. (3) When self-extinguishing, the speed suddenly drops, and the exhaust pipe is seriously black smoke. Such failure or lack of water for the cooling system, so that the machine temperature is too high, resulting in piston and cylinder liner due to local overheating scratches; or for the lubrication system is faulty, so that the machine temperature rises, resulting in burning tile holding shaft. (4) When the flame is turned off by itself, the speed suddenly drops, accompanied by an abrupt noise. This situation is mostly caused by the failure of the crankshaft or the piston, the breakage of the connecting rod bolt, the detachment of the connecting rod nut, the dropping of the valve lock clip, or the valve falling into the cylinder.
