There are many ways to graft cucumber seedlings
There are three main methods for cucumber grafting: pasting method, top bud insertion method, and docking method. Among them: the sticking method refers to the grafting method of cutting off a cotyledon of the rootstock obliquely, cutting off most of the hypocotyl and root of the scion obliquely, and fully fitting the oblique surfaces of the remaining parts of the two together to cultivate grafted seedlings; Grafting method refers to the grafting method in which the scion root system is removed during grafting and the scion seedlings (tip buds) are directly inserted into the rootstock growth point; the leaning method is to close the cucumber scion and the hypocotyl of the pumpkin rootstock together, and the two seedlings pass through the bottom The incision on the hypocotyl is fitted to form a grafted seedling. After the grafted seedling is alive, the root system of the rootstock is cut off to achieve the purpose of root replacement.
The three cucumber grafting methods have different requirements for the grafting time and grafting technology.
1. Pasting method. During grafting, the thickness of the hypocotyls of the rootstock and the scion are basically the same. The seedling state of the grafting stage is that the two cotyledons of the rootstock seedlings are fully flat, the cotyledons of the scion are flat, and the first true leaf is spit out. There are three requirements in the grafting operation: First, cut the rootstock, from the rootstock seedling growth point close to the base of a cotyledon, use a blade to cut at an angle of 30°~45° from top to bottom, and cut the other cotyledon together with the growth point. Cut off the scion together with the axillary bud; then cut the scion, cut off the root of the scion hypocotyl from top to bottom at the same angle at 1 cm below the cotyledon node of the scion; finally align and align the cut surfaces of the scion seedling and the rootstock seedling. Fix it firmly with a grafting clip.
Second, the tip bud insertion method. Remove the scion root system when grafting, and insert the scion seedling (top bud) directly into the rootstock growth point. At this time, the hypocotyl of the rootstock is slightly thicker than the hypocotyl of the scion. The seedling state of the suitable stage for grafting is that the two cotyledons of the rootstock seedlings are fully flattened, the first true leaf is fully expanded, and the two cotyledons of the scion seedlings are fully flattened and the first Real leaves spit out core. The technical requirements for grafting are accurate and meticulous, remove the rootstock's growth points and axillary buds, and then use a single beveled bamboo stick with the same thickness and shape as the scion hypocotyl, and insert it diagonally downward from the cotyledon base of one side of the rootstock to the lower part of the other cotyledon 0.3~0.5 The angle between the insertion direction of the bamboo stick and the hypocotyl of the rootstock is about 135° at the centimeter point. When inserting, the bamboo stick is required to be inserted until the skin of the pumpkin stem is not penetrated. After insertion, the bamboo stick should not be pulled out temporarily. Take the scion and cut it obliquely downward from 0.5 cm below the cotyledon node into a single slope of 0.5 to 0.7 cm in length. After cutting off the scion, pull out the bamboo stick, quickly insert the scion diagonally downward, and lightly press it with your hand to make the contact surface tightly bonded.
Third, rely on the method of connection. The cucumber scion and the hypocotyl of the pumpkin rootstock are leaned together, and the two seedlings are inserted through the incision on the hypocotyl to form a grafted seedling. After the grafted seedling is alive, the root system of the rootstock is cut off to achieve the purpose of root replacement. When grafting, the stem thickness of the rootstock and scion hypocotyls are basically the same. The seedling state of the grafting stage is that the two cotyledons of the rootstock seedlings are flattened, the first true leaf is spit out, the two cotyledons of the scion seedlings are fully expanded, and the first true leaf is half spread. . The main points of the grafting technique by the leaning method are as follows: first use a blade or bamboo stick to remove the rootstock's growth points and axillary buds, and make a diagonal cut from top to bottom at 1 cm below the cotyledons. The angle is about 30°, and the depth is about down. 1/2 of the thickness of the hypocotyl; cut upwards at 1.5 to 2 cm below the cotyledon of the scion, at an angle of about 30°, with a depth of 2/3 of the thickness of the hypocotyl; insert the tongue-shaped incisions of the scion and the rootstock into each other Close it and fix it at the anastomosis of the incision with a grafting clip to make the incision closely joined, and immediately plant it in a nutrient bowl, pour plantar water along the edge of the bowl, and separate the scion and rootstock roots as much as possible when planting the seedlings to facilitate the later cutting of the roots.
