From the 25th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress of Zhejiang Province that was held on the 23rd, it was learned that according to the “Measures for the Implementation of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China in Zhejiang Province (Draft)”, consumers will buy in the store in the future. To expired food, or found that the food production date, shelf life has been modified, can claim compensation according to law.

After extensive investigations and opinions were solicited, the "Measures for the Implementation of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China in Zhejiang Province" submitted to the "Second Review of the Second People's Congress of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress" was greatly changed, adding not only a lot of new content, but also serious The food safety issues such as expired foods and food additives have also been set up separately.

The draft proposes that if a food business enterprise finds that the food has deteriorated or exceeds its shelf life, it shall immediately take off the shelf, stop the sale, destroy it on the spot, and must not return the supplier or producer, and establish a record of destruction. Encourage the recording of destruction by means of photographs or video recordings.

The draft requires that food business companies should establish a sales management system for foods that are close to their shelf-life, set up relatively independent sales areas, and alert consumers in an explicit manner. If a food business enterprise fails to destroy expired food, it will be fined. If the circumstances are serious, it shall be ordered to suspend production until the license is revoked.
