Egg shed disinfection is not scientific
Many farmers are accustomed to using lime for egg sheds. In fact, this is unscientific.
This is because spreading lime on the ground of a dry chicken house will not only result in no disinfection, but it will also easily cause chicken respiratory diseases. Chickens step on quicklime, which can easily cause toe burns. What is more serious is that laying hens often suffer from calcium deficiency due to high yields, and lime is found to feed heavily. Once lime enters the stomach, it can easily damage the digestive tract and cause inflammation, edema, or ulceration. Therefore, do not disinfect the egg house with quicklime. When it must be used, lime water should be added to 10% to 20% lime milk spray. Once the laying hens have eaten a lot of quicklime, they should immediately fill with 0.5% dilute hydrochloric acid or 0.3% dilute acetic acid. At the same time, egg noodles, soymilk, milk and other adhesive agents should be taken internally to prevent scrotum and gastrointestinal perforation.
