Prevention and cure of rabbit infectious stomatitis
The disease is an acute infectious disease caused by a virus and is often referred to as a rogue disease.
(1) Clinical symptoms
It mainly affects young rabbits aged 1 to 3 months. At the beginning of the disease, oral mucous membrane flushed, followed by multiple miliary vesicles to large pea vesicles in the mouth, blisters formed after the collapse of the blisters, a large number of flow, so that the lower jaw, meat, neck, chest and forepaw wet. Rabbits were unable to eat because of lack of energy, and individual rabbits had elevated body temperature and diarrhea. The disease duration ranged from 2 to 10 days and the mortality rate was over 50%.
(2) Prevention
Infectious stomatitis mainly through the digestive tract infection, improper feeding, feeding moldy feed, oral injury are incentives, mostly occurred in the spring and autumn. Therefore, preventive measures should be taken in a targeted manner. Usually pay attention to the rabbit house sanitation and disinfection, strengthen feeding management. Individual rabbits were found to be immediately isolated for treatment. The oral cavity can be rinsed with 2% boric acid water, 2% alum or 0,1% potassium permanganate water, and then the mouth is sprinkled with Chinese medicine jaundice powder and ice boron powder; or 7 parts of alum, 3 parts of white sugar, and distributed after mixing. 3 times a day, no water for half an hour. For severely ill rabbits, sulfa drugs can be fed at the same time and symptomatic supportive therapy can be taken.
