The potential market for the elderly industry is quite impressive

At present, China's 1/6 population has entered an old age, and by 2050, this proportion will reach 1/3, at which time China will usher in the peak of aging.

How to support the elderly has become a hot topic of concern to the whole society. At the “China-Japan Pension Service Forum” recently held in Beijing, the relevant person in charge of the National Development Committee for the Aging Committee’s Business Development Department stated that it is imperative to develop a socialized pension service industry. Experts at the meeting predicted that around 2050, the consumption demand of the elderly in China will reach 5 trillion yuan, and the potential market for China's elderly industry is considerable.

Tang Zhenxing, deputy director of the National Development Committee for the Aging Committee’s Business Development Department, said that China's pension service industry has just begun to emerge. Although there were some services in the past, it was not sound enough in many areas and services were extensive. At present, the pension service industry in some European countries, the United States and Japan is in the leading position in the world. For example, Japan has borrowed Chinese traditional culture and has absorbed China's family pension model. It has done very rigorously in terms of home care and humanized services. In particular, Japan has established long-term care insurance for elderly people who are disabled, and disabled seniors can purchase supplementary appliances through insurance. The day-to-day care facilities of the Japanese elderly person are also very user-friendly. These scientific practices and experiences are worth learning from.
