Philips joins Texas A&M University to establish a global health innovation center

The Global Health Innovation Center will try to coordinate public-private relationships and try new strategies for health care . The entire partnership is dedicated to researching population health solutions as part of a state fund pilot project called Healthy South Texas. Healthy South Texas is a $10 million fund project established by the Texas Legislature, with county and county branches and health from Texas A&M Agricultural Life Extension Service Center and Texas A&M Health Science Center Experts provide medical prevention for diabetes, asthma and infectious diseases in 27 South Texas counties.

“This project puts us side by side with people on the health front and gives us unanticipated insights into the development of life health applications and solutions that will change regional and global human health,” said Hans Aloys-Wischmann of the Philips Research Center in South America. .

“Many of today’s problems are too complex and expensive to be solved by public institutions alone,” said John Sharp, chairman of Texas A&M. “We will prove that we can solve problems in a cooperative way, and this will benefit us. Citizens, including consumers and taxpayers."

Healthy South Texas is committed to building a disease prevention agency that conducts research through healthcare professionals and patients in areas of low health. In terms of population health, Philips and Texas A&M University will evaluate the best tools at home and abroad.

In emergency services, the goal of this collaboration is to seek to better manage scarce resources, so Philips and Texas A&M University will establish a platform to coordinate emergency supplies and services. In addition, the collaboration will help public health agencies improve their disease response capabilities.

The two sides will establish an infectious disease control network, and Philips will rely on Texas A&M University's long-established biological monitoring system. “70% of outbreaks are transmitted from animals to humans. Texas A&M experts will test and treat diseases, make vaccines and educate the public through the Healthy South program,” said Texas A&M University Director of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Mark Hussey said.

According to reports, the cooperation between the two sides will be carried out in the following three aspects:

The Healthy South Texas (HST) Population Health Plan - The main purpose of the HST program is to build a solid and replicable foundation for disease prevention, community service, and citizen participation. The program will also expand health services to every citizen in South Texas by expanding and strengthening disease prevention. The Philips and Texas A&M University Systems will evaluate and replicate the best population health management practices at home and abroad.

EMS Integration Solution - To increase the real-time visibility of medical resources and channels, the project will develop a total solution to help support the medical emergency coordinator, increasing efficiency and effectiveness. The project will include the development of an EMS supply and service platform, as well as the use of Philips decision support and analytical technology solutions to help state, municipal, and municipal agencies respond to medical disaster preparedness, response, and recovery, as well as the latest and current technologies. Training programs will also be included.

Inspection Diagnostics and Biomonitoring - Through a joint Philips diagnostic diagnostic specialist and Texas A&M University Biomonitoring Specialist, this collaboration will govern infectious diseases and establish global health standards. The global health concept considers human health to be closely related to animal health and the environment. It has been agreed that better cooperation between health care providers can better protect against public health threats.

Earlier, on June 1st, Philips announced that it would cooperate with Yale University on cancer interventional drugs. In September last year, Philips and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology collaborated to develop new intracranial pressure measurement techniques.
