GluCase: a mobile phone case that can measure blood sugar

AkibaH, a foreign design team, has launched a mobile phone case that can be used to measure blood sugar. GluCase is designed to help smartphones improve their lives by combining smartphones and blood glucose meters into a single device. The device looks like an ordinary phone case, but with a built-in blood glucose meter that allows users to display, store and analyze blood glucose data through related applications.

Users can also share data with the medical team so that doctors can monitor their blood glucose levels in real time. The phone case has a lancet on the bottom, and a test strip next to the phone case - both can be hidden inside the phone case when not in use, and pop up when needed. The test strip readings will be presented on the screen and the data will be added to the application.

At present, AkibaH, the design team of GluCase mobile phone case, is launching a crowdfunding campaign in Indiegogo, hoping to achieve a funding target of $50,000. The team is currently receiving $2,000 in support and 29 days from the end of crowdfunding. Supporters spend $69 to get a GluCase phone case.

This phone case is suitable for the latest four generations of iPhone and Samsung Galaxy 5 and its next generation models.
